Small Stone
Fragmented sleep
does not provide
the body
suitable rest
for a filled day of
undertakings
when the mind
should be
razor sharp

What are small stones?
A small stone is a short piece of writing (any style) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment for you. The process of discovering small stones is as significant as the finished creation. Searching for small stones encourages you to keep your senses on the “alive and alert” status. Involve yourself with a new set of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind. In short … OPEN, OPEN, OPEN!

I have never slept through a night unless from exhaustion. Fibromyalgia causes chronic nerve pain and thus chronic fatigue. But, look out!! Because when I do get a really good night’s sleep I try to make up for it by doing everything I can the next day. Sleep is truly a blessing.
As one who never sleeps throught he night I feel for you Becca! I pray that one night I could sleep rigfht through ~ what a blissful dream that is!
I can totally totally relate! And from the response on FB, we are not alone!!
I am really enjoying your small stones Becca. You write them with such honesty of feeling. You show us who you are through these stones. I wrote within the community for a while well over a year ago before I left. I think that shortly there after I began my sort of immersion study of haiku for six months or so. For me that really filled a spiritual need at the time.
This is the first time I have participated in the challenge — first time I was too late (I thought) and then I felt intimidated … I was determined to take a leap of faith minutes before the 1st one was to be posted “now or never” … it has been a good change for me … Thank you for your input; I appreciate your views and comments. Namaste ~~ xo
Hugs kiddo – I too so appreciate you Becca!
I hope your day goes well in spite of your restless night,,,
Of all the blessings in my life, one of the best is an ability to sleep easily and long! I have friends who struggle constantly with sleep – in fact, I just sent a link to this to one of them. If nothing else, it may make her smile to know she’s not alone!
This is probably my most commented and liked stone on the small stone FB page … guess I am not alone! LOL Hope it does make your friend realize — she is not alone!!
I feel your pain! LOL Those kind of nights have gotten to be the norm for me.
This is exactly how I feel this morning, after several restless nights, in mourning for a young man I knew Becca. Lovely words, comforting me, thank you. <3
I wish you sweet dreams tonight or at least adequate rest to soothe the turmoil in your thoughts.
Peace and love,
Siggi
