“Oh soul,
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.
Of anything less,
why do you worry?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.”
~~ Rumi, (Persian Poet and Mystic, 1207-1273) ~~

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
~ Rumi ~

I wonder if the snail started slugging to the ark the first of the hundred years that Noah worked on it? I bet!
Having an “awake” night so I decided to check e-mail and that led me to your blog where, even if I don’t sleep, I find rest. Rumi, dogs, art, poetry, Spirit. It can’t get much better than that! Blessings, Namaste.
