My Diet’s Expiration

Biscuits, scones, cornbread
Rye, white, wheat, pumpernickel
Butter, clotted cream

English muffins split
Bagels, French, Italian
Matters not to me

Such a temptation
Tantalizing and fragrant
Willpower escapes

Achilles’ tendon
My diet’s expiration …
Life’s too fleeting!

Ahhh … yum …

More, please!

Just in case, it may not be obvious, I LOVE LOVE LOVE bread … in any shape and size … particularly “hot, just out the oven”. My weaknesses are biscuits and scones! Give me either, with a pottered mug of dark roasted French drip coffee, or fragrant hot tea — I am in heaven!

There is nothing so delicious as a toasted piece of bread smothered in butter and topped with jam! I love your ode to bread.

Well, I don’t know whether to tell you that is a blessing or not! All because, the entire group is yummy!! Then again, if I didn’t know what any of them tasted like, I wouldn’t have the dilema of staying away from them! 🙂 Thank you for your visit. 🙂

I love bread right out of the oven with real butter melting on top. I feel no need to diet. I’ve accepted my fate and am eagerly digging my grave with that butter knife.

Ah, delightful. Your visit to Panera was inspirational. I loved that place, too. Bread is not fattening because I use making it as a meditation. lol Wait until you come here, we will make glorious breads together! love you! pat

Yum! I agree! I really like ‘willpower escapes’ – ie just when you thought you had it under control. Good.

There’s (at least) one disadvantage about living in France: you can’t get clotted cream. (aggghhh!)

“willpower escapes” … right out the window!! 🙂 …

ahhh, clotted cream – I don’t have to have it … in fact, I don’t get it often here in Texas … but it is a pleasure when it is available.
