Illuminating
Sweet nostalgic memories
Power of the past
Poignant endearing glimpses
Frozen motionless in time

This is my first attempt at Tanka.
Tanka (or waka) is an unrhymed Japanese poem consisting of five lines of 5/7/5/7/7 totaling 31 kana (Japanese units or syllables).
Tanka is generally written in two parts. The first three lines is one part, and the last two lines is the second part.
Tanka in English is relatively new, so there are not as many guidelines as with haiku and senryu.

Your expressions of nostalgia…a human emotion we all have experienced, is truly what a tanka is all about…your poem is evocative of that emotion. The last line is the perfect twist..’.frozen motionless in time’ is what you can’t do to time…and that makes nostalgia more painful. I love reading this.
