Memorial Day – Remembrance Hold Dear!

Remembrance hold dear
Those who fought courageously
So we may be free
Life, hope, courage, reassurance
With these we shall keep faith near

Since today is Memorial Day – I feel it is fitting to repost this piece in thanksgiving to the valor of the men and women who have fought to keep our lives and country free.

Although, initially started as a remembrance for military who perished in WWI, the red poppy has eventually become a symbol of honor and remembrance for all servicemen who died in any war, not just World War I. This remembrance is traditional in several countries throughout the world.

This photo was taken in the Texas Hill Country, outside of Fredericksburg, at the Wildseed Farms. I love to visit the Wildseed Farm this time of year. It is a riot of glorious color.
