Forgotten Genetic Gene

Skills of mothering
Empty as arid desert
Missed role modeling
Forgotten genetic gene
Although she tried her best
Struggled to exhibit love
Bridge open for crossing

With time, all mellows
Gradually bridges mend
Layer by layer

I read somewhere “just because the person doesn’t love you the way you would like to be loved, does not mean that they do not love you the best way they know how.” It took me many years to understand and accept this. Your poems state it so clearly. Thanks, BB. hugs, pat

Pat, I was trying to figure out what you have said so eloquently.
I echo your words of wisdom to this wonderful poem.
Been there felt that. Different ending.
Becca, thank you for sharing these words from your heart and soul.

  2. The phrase ” Empty as an arid desert” is so very descriptive. It is a touching poem with which I can relate. Deeply sad and so true.

What sadness…I want to send you this big hug, Becca. Hope that bridge is a found to be two-way! 😀
