Seeking Your Familiar Face

Sangiovese primed

Sangiovese  (san-jo-veh-zeh) – Italy’s claim to fame, is the pride of Tuscany. Traditionally made, the wines are full of cherry fruit, earth, and cedar. It produces Chianti (Classico), Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montepulciano, Montefalco Rosso, and many others. Sangiovese is also the backbone in many of the acclaimed, modern-styled “Super-Tuscans”, where it is blended with Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc) and typically aged in French oak barrels, resulting a wine primed for the international market in the style of a typical California cabernet: oaky, high-alcohol, and a ripe, jammy, fruit-forward profile. I get immediate migranes from wine, hence I don’t drink them. However, I do appreciate this piece. Lovely! … and so nice that you did the narrative in the color of wine. Well done…

Since I no longer live in South Louisiana, my wine tastings are sparse … fortunately, I do not experience ill effects, like migraines and other allergic reactions to a good glass of wine. Appreciate your feedback, Jamie!

I love Tuscany. No, I have never been. It is on my “Bucket List.” I think it would be romantic, picturesque, the people would be friend;y, the architecture would be enthralling and the wine and food would make my taste buds burst.
    AAaahhhhhh …. wonderful.
