This speaks of vulnerablity … very insightful.

It is hard to let go or walk away from some friendships and/or relationships … but to recognize the need to do so is an important lesson in and of itself. This separation can cause someone to feel quite vulnerable.

It’s true, Becca, about friendships and that double-edged sword. There are relationships I swore would last a lifetime, yet they were broken over bad choices, both by myself and by others. But keeping on the path to enlightenment requires a certain sacrifice. Especially true, I think, of folks in recovery, having to abandon former comrades – in ‘arms,’ you know. This was truly food for thought, thanks, Becca. Amy

I understand the feeling that NOTHING would interfere with a friendship of kindred spirits, but alas, if we speak truth from within … nearly everyone is only with us for a designated season.

So true, Becca – it’s what happens! The only thing we can do is accept. The important thing, for me, is to do it with love if I have to veer away.

Important to recognize the parting with acceptance and gratitude for the enrichment provided during the mutual seasons!

So true, isn’t it, Becca. We do not get to choose who joins us or how long they stay on our path of life. You do 4x4s so well! This message is important. Becca, your poetry would be interesting to put with your paintings on cards like Kathy does on Pocket Perspectives. I love the cards one leaves out on the table and people pick on each time they come for a visit. So much wisdom and beauty in your poems. Hugs, pat

No, I would suspect in some friendships – their season will complete prior to the end of the path … bittersweet when this occurs!
