The musical, “Wicked” is based on the Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (1995), a parallel novel of the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and L. Frank Baum’s classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900).

  2. OMG … I was just going to post that I was hoping you had seen it in New York until I read that you did in one of your responses above. It is such an oustanding play and book.
    When I worked at a dance studio in the 1980’s, we did several numbers to the songs in the play.
    What fun to see it again here with your very descriptive Haiku. Thanks for the memories. ~~~ : – )

    I’ve seen this twice now, once in CA and once here in WA, and I loved it! The Wizard of Oz is my all time favorite movie from childhood and watched it so much I nearly had it all memorized…over the top I know. I love this and the descriptive words you used. Nice!
