Dear Elizabeth!

“Comfort comes from knowing that people have made the same journey.
And solace comes from understanding how others have learned to sing again.”

~~ Helen Steiner Rice

Even in a world filled with millions of people, many times in the darkest of nights … we still feel all alone.

In my life of immeasurable hurt, sorrow and disappointment, I find comfort in realizing, in truth, I am never alone. There are those who have walked, and continue to walk roads narrower, scarier, and lonelier than my path – all heavily laden with burdens, sorrows, losses, fear and heart-wrenching disappointments far surpassing mine.  I cannot speak for those individuals, however, I find, in these times of mine,  the unexpected pause of a kind stranger can lift spirits higher than those closer at hand.

With the idea of “you” being the stranger with the unexpected pause, I encourage you to take time to get involved in the campaign, The World Needs More Love Letters.

Hannah Brencher over at The World Needs More Love Letters, asked Kellie of Magic in the Backyard,  if she would  join her in the 12 Day’s of Love Letter Writing campaign which has been featured in Oprah Winfrey’s blog as well as The Wall Street Journal

Kellie accepted with enthusiasm, and enlisted her readers to join her in writing love letters.

What is the 12 Days of Love Letter Writing?

We are creating 12 Love Letter Bundles for 12 individuals (all requested secretly by someone in their life that cares about them) across a 12-day span. From December 5-17, we will highlight an individual in need of some extra encouragement in the form of handwritten notes and encourage people to script a letter and send it to our PO Box to be bundled up and mailed off the person.

Elizabeth is in her early 20’s and got married a couple years back. Without warning, her husband recently decided to leave her.

Her close friend wrote, “Elizabeth was strong for a long while but has been shutting out all those who have been supporting her, loving her and trying to point her in the direction of God. Elizabeth is a highly creative individual who is multifaceted and full of potential. She has been through the ringer and is resisting her true life’s calling.”

Kellie of Magic in the Backyard asks:

My plea to you, my readers, is to take a moment out of your day, sit down with a pen and paper and hand write a letter to Elizabeth. Share with her your experiences with pain. Tell her how you made it through, what you did to move forward and how good it felt to overcome. Think about the time you were suffering, what was it that someone said to you that made you realize that it really will be o.k. and maybe you, a complete stranger will be the one that delivers Elizabeth a little hope.

Please, take a moment and pledge to write a letter to Elizabeth!

  • Sign up for today (December 7th – 15th)

I wish her all the best and will look into it. I know others who have gone through the same thing and it is very hard to go through it alone, so this is a really good idea.

I truly hope this turns into a special event for Elizabeth and helps her overcome her sadness.

Thanks for sharing this with us at TT, and may blessings of joy come through the mail.

    God bless.
