Hi Becca,
I’m glad you came to my blog so I came back to say Hello. Your Haiku is fantastic. I’ve never written one, but I know it’s not easy to get so much in so few words. And the photo is brilliant.

Hi Dearrosie,
I’m sorry that I just jumped into a conversation of yours and Becca but couldn’t resist replying you when I read that You have not written a Haiku ever. Actually I was just very much like you few weeks back and had a fear that I could never bring few words to a big 3D picture of visualization. It’s amazing you see…Becca writes beautiful prose and haiku as well which you can read from her blog archive and understand how all this works.
Writing haiku is so satisfying…I suggest you to try ones some decent day you feel like. And do share you experience with us all. I will be so delighted to read from you 🙂
Love & gracious Always!!!

Hi rachanashakyawar,
I’m really glad you jumped into the conversation. I’d love to try Haiku, but I still don’t know the parameters.

English is a little freer than traditional Japanese bec/ of syllable structure … that being said, the majority are based on three lines with form of 5 – 7 – 5 syllables (non rhyming) for 17 syllables total … the third line relatively independent of the first two lines. There are some great references available. Haiku is nature based and Senryu follows same parameters but life based … I tend to use the terms interchangeable. 🙂 Also I read somewhere to try not to use “the and a”. I hope that helps some. Thank you for visiting.

Thank you for the explanation Becca. It looks simple, but expressing an emotion in 17 syllables is incredibly difficult.

Such conciseness helps me focus – or I tend to ramble!!
😀 Give it a try; I look forward to reading. Be sure to let me know ~~ Blessings for a great weekend.

Just beautiful. One thing I like about flying is looking down on the clouds. (There’s not too much that’s enjoyable anymore in that form of travel!)
