In San Gervasio Mayan Ruins
Cozumel, Mexico
I captured several “Sunday Tree” photographs during my late March journey to the Western Caribbean (via cruise). This one was taken during our stop-over trip to the island of Cozumel, Mexico. The San Gervasio Mayan Ruins, in the middle of island, provided a plethora of choices. The trees were almost as mesmerizing as the Ruins.
I will feature more shots from the Mayan Ruins and our island-hopping in upcoming Sundays. I sincerely hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed “spotting” them.

This is your most jaw-dropping photo to date I have seen in your Sunday Trees series. Those roots and the ruins are completely unified in mutual preservation, are they not?

I love the way the tree and rocks intertwine, nearly the same color. Some of the rocks are crumbling like old wood, and the tree seems solid as a rock. Wonderful!

You captured some really great images of trees on your vacation. I spent loads of time on the pyramids and shots. I had never thought of trees. I’m glad you did, Becca.
Awesome ….

This is quite lovely and so appreciated. I was at the Botanical Garden today and have a nice selection of trees … hope I can be late and put one up tomorrow. They are not on this computer.

I love your trees…I think I’ve said that before…and will say it again !
We’ve had a rash of tree cutting on my street and in the towns around Ellsworth. I have been trying to capture “portraits” of the older trees or those in possible danger of being cut.
Thank you.

You should start posting them as part of Sunday Trees — let me know I can link it for others to see. 😀 It is quite a shame when old trees are designated for cutting. They have such a rich history and spirit.

I think I’d like to do that…I was thinking the past couple of weeks I should gather them so I could find the photos.
I’ll have something for next Sunday. I’ve added it to my calendar to have one ready to post on my blog.
Peace and love,
