Each week Carry On Tuesday will publish either a famous quotation or a line from a book, song or poem and invite you to Carry On where words stop. You may use some of the words or all of them either at the start of your piece or within the body of your work.
Carry on Tuesday’s host, Keith of Keith’s Ramblings makes a notation for this week:
“As a rule I give you just a few words to use in your creation. But when I found this quote I couldn’t resist bringing the whole piece to the table. Obviously you won’t be able to use all of it, so pluck from it what words you will! This week we have as our inspiration a quote from Charles Dickens.
“The dreams of childhood – its airy fables, its graceful, beautiful, humane, impossible adornments of the world beyond ; so good to be believed in once, so good to be remembered when outgrown.”

if only we could hold on to more of our childhood dreams and turn them into something real as adults. lucky, the people who do.

the image goes so nicely with the lovely poetry. not sure that my childhood wishes (and memories of the same) are quite so wonderful and whimsical as the Dicken’s quote is!

Great post! But I believe in dusting those dreams off and taking them off the shelf. Who says they have to be put away when we grow up!

Ideally, dreams never get put on the shelf in the first place– but if they have been put away, it’s never too late to pull them down and reviving them!! 😀

Hi Becca, for some odd reason I cannot see your response to the “Carry on Tuesday” prompt. I came looking though…and appreciate your comment at my site.
