I would like to extend my appreciation to Paula Manning – Lewis, A New Mexico Artist’s Journey through Life for the recognition and award for the “One Lovely Blog” .
Paula’s nomination drifted into my spam folder while I was traveling. With the palliative care of Miss Magnolia upon my return, I was delayed in discovering the error. 😦 Although it has a few rules (which I will address in steps), I did not want to delay my “thank you” and appreciation to her. As many of you may already know, I adore a conglomeration of bright, jeweled tone colors. So when I first started blogging and came across one of Paula’s pieces, I immediately fell in love with her work. I appreciate the techniques, style, colors and subjects of her art work. She is an inspiration to this fledgling! 😀

I retired from practicing as a Registered Dietitian (RD) 5 yrs ago today!

My husband and I enjoy working together as entrepreneurs. We have fun with two businesses – one available in the United States and one globally. Both dealing with energy – but on different spectrum of the scale. One involves consumer energy (electricity, natural gas and renewable energy certificates), and one with the body’s energy and meridians. They are the reason I am “retired”! 😀

My mom asked me to hang some of my “Meditative Art” in the 2013 Spring Art Show in my hometown, and to share space in her featured Art Show next summer. She is a seasoned, admired, and traditional artist – specializing in oil colors for landscapes and still life. My pieces are non traditional and abstract.

I love walls filled with art. If I see wall color – I still have room to hang more! 😀

I have a growing appreciation for who I am and the journey I am on.

I’ve realized it robs the universe to deprive it of one’s gifts. I no longer want to “play small”!

I am thankful to be alive, to have my husband walking beside me, to have my mom, siblings and their children enjoying life, and for the joys of our fur-children.

A well deserved award, Becca! Congratulations. And, thanks for sharing yourself with us. Your meditative art is perhaps part of “I have a growing appreciation for who I am and the journey I am on” I love that #5 and something I hope to work towards. Once again — Congratulations.
PS: I have put most blogs I enjoy on digest to lower my overwhelmedness, so once a week I go through and read each blog and comments, then try and add my comments at least once or twice. So I haven’t disappeared, just reordered my time.

Congratulations, dear sister becca, on this fine award. And I loved getting to know more about you here! No wonder I felt so comfortable with you in Blogville: I used to edit for a bunch of RDs who were also Ph.D. biochemists involved in multi-million dollar research. Hooray for your mom getting you to share in her artistic endeavors.
