You’ve really got me wondering what kind of a sound they make besides the buzzing of their wings.

We went looking for the fall migrating humming birds; the jewel weed that grows in a local park is a feeding stop on their journey south.
Numbers were down this year, but did see one on two walks through the woods.
Your haiku captures the hummingbird’s rhythm and beauty so well.

Some of these little creatures are so noisy that they out-noise the wind!

Such a beauty. Such lovely words. We feed two with these plants and many more of the Trumpet Vine (plants not birds, that is). I was so saddened by the news this years of their dwindling due to the drought.

I noticed during the summer I did not have any visitors — at least while I was outside … but a few days ago, I heard the familiar chirp (one of the few birds I actually recognize before I see) … and immediately put fresh nectar for them. It was a wonderful gift of the day! Thank you for your visit!! It is always a joy to have you stop by … 😀
