Many miles
Gypsy traveler
Home at last
______________________________________________
I have returned from a ten-day bus trip with my mom and 43 senior citizens. Originating from South Louisiana, we traveled 3600 miles through eleven states with several designated stops:
-
Guided tour of Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis … the church was built in 1907; this Cathedral, known for its beautiful interior mosaics, took nearly 80 years to create using more than 41 million pieces of tile … an incredible work of art and marble.
-
Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri
-
Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD … folk art icon using over 3000 bushels of grasses and 275+ thousands ears of colored corn (5 colors) created in murals to adorn the inside and outside of the building … Yearly themes depicted. The workers start in June and complete by October.
-
Badlands National Park … rugged and spectacular geologic landscape
-
Mount Rushmore
-
Custer State Park
-
Crazy Horse Memorial – privately funded memorial, in progress
-
Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Kearney, Nebraska … where many trails towards the West Expansion intersected … Mormon Trail, Oregon Trail, California Trail and 49ers Trail
-
Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum

haha …. I can picture these seniors all dressed as gypsies. Fun Haiku to go with the traveling.
I’m exhausted from the schedule and all I’ve done is read it. I’m sure you are happy to be home so you can get some rest.
Toodles,
