that’s what I love most about haiku, it’s more or less open for interpretation.. The first line had me hooked, “Stung by winter’s frost,” stung by someone you once knew and loved, but, “Withered mums bow golden heads,” meaning that you’re still standing, though you bowed out graciously.. do not mistake it for weakness, and “Praying for reprieve,” waiting to heal, to feel alive again!! Just my interpretation of your words.. though it may have an entire different meaning for someone else.. Thank you for sharing!! Truly admire this! Thank you!

That is an AWESOME interpretation — 😀
Yes, writing is more often than not multi-layered for me … it can have just what you read, but more than likely will have additional meaning
or symbolism. The key for me, is for someone … after reading …
to “click” away with some nugget or ripple effect!!
Thank you for sharing with me … you are “spot on” with your insight!! 😀

I had to really think about your words and I found them wise and a bit sad. But spring will return and bring the blooms with it. Blessings to you and your family. Barbara

I just love this! It reminds me of that line from Gordon Bok’s song, “Turning Toward the Morning” –
It’s a pity we don’t know
what the little flowers know
they can’t face the cold November,
they can’t take the wind and snow.
They put their glories all behind them,
bow their heads and let it go,
but you know they’ll be there shining in the morning.

How lovely … I am not familiar with the song … will have to search for it. Thank you for including the lyrics. They are quite resilient … even if they must rest a bit before popping their wee heads out in glory in the spring!! 😀
