I want to thank you for bringing back the memories of weeping willows. Your poems touch my life.
At the top of my grandparent’s driveway there was a huge (at least to the little me) weeping willow with the branches and leaves just touching the earth beneath. I would sit inside, back to trunk, and watch the summer world stroll by full of light and life, smells to taste and remember, butterflies, daisies, cats, roses.
When we lived in the country, about a mile down the old railway tracks was a historical park to mark where British soldiers rounded up the Acadian (French) population, and dispersed them to the wind, the seas, foreign shores and foreign cultures. There is a row of willows with trunks that have grown sideways, paralleling the earth. Legend has it that these willows stood and watched the Acadians’ world crumble in 1755 — the expulsion. (Won’t get into history and politics, so leave it there)

This is a gorgeous haiga! The haiku sings and the image is so lovely. I love the textures within. It fills me with questions about how you achieved the effect. Wonderful!
