This is written in the form of Elfje … an Elfje is a Dutch form consisting of 11 words spread over 5 lines!

The Elfje form originated in The Netherlands.  It is a form used to teach young children to write poetry.  The word Elfje means ‘Elven’ or ‘Fairy’ poem (from ‘Elf’ meaning ‘elven’ or ’fairy’ and the suffix ‘- je’ meaning ‘little’ ).

I am amazed at how far the Elfje has come from when it was first introduced to me possibly over a year ago or more. And too that Libby has a site devoted to the form.
I did a whole month of Elfje, March 2013. Acrostic Elfje. Libby started that form (unless it was done long ago also).

    Thanks for your visits.

JP, I remember your month of acrostic pieces. I always enjoy your pieces and am most impressed by the month of styles. It is an overwhelming endeavor for me. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
