The Rainy Season

Written for the Carpe Diem Challenge:  write a Tan Renga.

Tan Renga is a two stanza poem with 5-7-5 and 7-7 syllables (5-7-5-7-7).  Unlike a Tanka written by one poet, Tan Renga is written by two.  Poet One writes the  5-7-5 and Poet Two completes 7-7.

The rainy season
A paper lantern in hand
I walk along the verandah
Swift wind gusts, leading light doused
Hearing tin roof audition

  1. An audition on tin roof would fail in my book… 🙂 if it’s a grass roof I would reconsider Great completion
