To celebrate American Art Week, the local Fine Arts Guild held its 3rd Annual Photography Contest. I took a step out of my comfort zone, and entered three photos. One of my entries was selected for
3rd Place Ribbon
“Don’t Lock Me Out”
The other entries were:
“Under Twisted Roots”
“The Busy Bee”

Look at you! Congratulations. I do love old doors, and padlocks, so that one is a winner in my book, too. It’s too bad you missed seeing the exhibition, but there will be other times.

Thank you, Linda … and yes, I wish I could view the others so I have an idea for improving — but I’ll just compete against myself for selecting the next one! 😀

The tree roots are my favorite — it was an amazing experience to sit under the roots with the entire tree above me.

All three photos are wonderful. I can see why the “Don’t lock me out” took a ribbon. The juxtaposition of old and new is very nice. Congratulations!

Becca, all three photos are blue ribbon in my book! Spectacular ! The one that “locked up” third place brought a smile. The doorknob looks like a little person carrying a purse – did the judges see the same thing?

JJ — Thank you!!! 😀
I have absolutely no idea what the judges saw … I dropped the photos off while someone was staying with my mom for a few minutes for me to do so … and then I headed back to TX on Sunday when the ribbons were given out. I received the call late Sunday afternoon. I wish I had the chance to see the others — but the show comes down the Friday before I get back to LA. I will miss it all the way around!!

Well, Becca – you have to enter again – you need a first place and a second place ribbon so you can wear two as “pasties” and one on a thong bottom! Flaunt your accomplishments – you go girl!
