What are small stones?

A small stone is a short piece of writing (any style) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment for you. The process of discovering small stones is as significant as the finished creation. Searching for small stones encourages you to keep your senses on the “alive and alert” status. Involve yourself with a new set of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind. In short … OPEN, OPEN, OPEN!

  1. This reminded me of a neighbour we once had, who had lots of Silkies in her garden. This was in an urban area, and their pen was only a few feet away from my bedroom. She also ‘baby sat” friends’ roosters when they went away on vacation.Their incessant crowing at all hours of the day and night, became quite a bone of contention between us. Your ‘small stone’ sounds positively idyllic in comparison. 🙂

You’re lucky if your rooster waits for daybreak. I once had one that thought 3 a.m. was perfect. Sometimes, he’d wait for 4 a.m., but that wasn’t much better. My neighbor wasn’t happy. We worked it out, and the solution was very tasty!
