#AwakeAugust 2016 – Small Stone (12) – Joy of Overdue Rain

#AwakeAugust2016

Small Stone 2015
smack of thunder
rare drumbeat sound
on tin roof and windows
gasping in delight
two humans sprint to porch swing
to enjoy nature’s presentation
happy trees, flowers, grass
all nature sings

What are small stones?

A small stone is a short piece of writing (any style) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment for you. The process of discovering small stones is as significant as the finished creation. Searching for small stones encourages you to keep your senses on the “alive and alert” status. Involve yourself with a new set of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind. In short … OPEN, OPEN, OPEN!

  1. I can picture your joy as the heavens finally opened, showering the plants with rain and quenching the thirsty ground, Becca! 🙂

What? Are you getting rain?! Lucky you! We have our fingers crossed for later this weekend.

I’m following along, reading, and enjoying your small stones, even though I’m not commenting on each. They really are nice.
