228th Nurturing Thursday

This is still a challenge for me to understand and uncover!
Anyone else feel the same?

What is Nurturing Thursday, you ask?

Think about it … In our amazing but highly competitive and aggressive society:

  • How many of us truly feel good about ourselves?
  • How often do we extend to ourselves … the same courtesies, considerations, nurturing, forgiveness and understanding we bestow a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger?

With the ongoing intention to accept myself with an open heart rather than label myself as “good” or “bad” OR a “success” or “failure” … I challenge myself, and I challenge YOU to  treat ourselves with the same kindness, caring, and compassion we show a good friend.  My goal for this year continues with striving and thriving in an atmosphere of self-compassion and self-kindness in my life.  What about you?

To “give this planet a much needed shot of fun, support and positive energy” … I dub Thursdays as Nurturing Thursday.

If any of my readers are interested in joining the nurturing, I applaud and welcome you to do so … the more the merrier!!

  1. One of my favorite Buddhist slogans is “Always meditate on whatever provokes resentment” It usually has something to teach me and sometimes makes me laugh at myself! I like the idea of nurturing Thursdays.

I think this is deeply true, and an endless life lesson.

  3. Meg Evans says:

The subconscious certainly can feel like a junk heap sometimes! That said, I also pay attention to what brings up good feelings. Whatever the emotion, there’s usually some helpful guidance in there.

  4. Triggers has a different meaning for me. My triggers come from sexual assault, bullying, harassment, abuse and domestic violence in my past and those I will live with for the rest of my life. A trigger could be a smell, sound, being in a place that’s too crowded or I might have a flashback which would trigger an anxiety attack. I’ve been through about 40 years of therapy, pills, and hospitalizations but unless they start giving lobotomies one cannot erase the brain of memories. Fortunately I’ve found some allies who also experience the Triggers. Eventually you learn to live with your condition.
