Trees around Ireland (36)
Along the walk-way to the castle, we found a number of the trees wrapped
in knitted garments. There was a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns.

Don’t feel too left out — I had to travel from
TX to Ireland to see these! 😉

In CA there are some trees that are colorful such as these with crocheted coverings down near Santa Monica. I found them to be wonderful to look at.

Lovely yarn-bombing here.

It’s called “yarn-bombing” and I’ve seen other examples. One of my reader’s daughters was involved in a project that involved doing the same thing to telephone poles (I think) in the Toronto area. It’s a non-destructive form of grafitti! Here’s a great photo essay from Time Magazine.

I’m happy to know about yarn-bombing … I loved seeing the numerous colors and patterns. Knowing the time it takes to crochet or knit, that’s A LOT of work!!! 😄

Thank you for the essay link … omg, a tank and bus???? A lot of work and yarn!!!! However, it’s colorful, whimsical and conversational! 😊

I can’t knit a square, I can’t imagine covering a whole bus. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.

It was such a whimsical and welcoming site to behold. We never could find out why the trees were dressed, but we enjoyed them nevertheless!
