Becca’s Art

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
~~ Pablo Picasso

Watercolors are a new medium and outlet in my “creativity rehab” activities. I completed my first exercise with watercolors in the summer of 2010.

It is funny, I never have been a fan of abstract work … and here I am creating it each time I pick up the brushes.

The creation of each piece is without a preconception of the piece’s result. I follow the lead of the brushes, paint and Spirit. I only discern when the piece is finished, when I “hear Finished!” No matter my stance about the piece at that point, I lay down the brushes. I am always surprised with the completed pieces. Even though these pieces of art are part of a meditative exercise, I have names for each.

However, rather than listing my name for the creation  … I am interested in what you see in it? What does it say to you? How does it make you feel?

I stumbled on you blog tonight, perhaps mostly urged on by a sense of curiosity.
You see, I’m a regular visitor at http://roughwaterjohn.wordpress.com/
I typically visit anyone who comes to visit RoughWaterJohn’s blog, leaving behind wonderful comments as you did.
It appears at first glance that I have plenty of blog to enjoy, now that I have found your pages.
I enjoy art and I see that you have an abundance. I think I’ll enjoy some time alone with your paintings and then write…write…write

ps. I like the following words on your pages: “All Is One With Our Creator”

    Absolute Best Regards….

Before I begin offering my impressions of your work, I decided to quickly sift through a few pages of paintings to get a feel for my immediate impression (reading the book by its cover)

When you see a child drawing a picture of a family in tact, you recognize members, some holding hands, other being held. You might see pretty flowers and trees, a dog playing happily on the the yard. Mom stands next to Dad, and you might see penciled smiles on everybody’s faces.

I see your paintings in a similar way, they are wholesome and rich with value, in tact, plenty of happiness and contentment.
