Summer Continues to Stare

Mindlovemisery’s MenagerieWordle #29

I have been blogging creative writing in the form of micro-poetry for nearly four (4) years.  In this time, I have been intrigued with Wordles.  However, I will openly confess — I have been intimidated by them.  On several occasions, I have copied/pasted the lists to my ongoing creative work spot (from various memes) … but copied/pasted is as far as the writing went.  As many of my reader’s are aware, my poetry is predominantly “micro”.  I have toyed with a other versions, but short-versions suit my personality and time constraints best.  Nevertheless, on my ongoing “to try list” remains the daunting “Wordle”!

Last week, I attempted writing a Haiku/Senryu using three (3) random words.  In my mind’s eye, with my muse wholeheartedly agreeing  … this was a micro-form of Wordle!   Yea Yea Yea!!  Intrigued with the prospect of tackling my creative nemesis, I used Random Word Generator — the result was Twilight Dance.  With generous encouragement from Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie, I am stepping out of my comfort zone … attempting my first Wordle … and tackling my very own Sciamachy with my very own drivel.  Here goes …. 😀

Fountain of limp shame
Summer continues to stare
Yearn for burnish stamp
Theatre of tinted leaves
Vulnerability asks
Of patient winter
Ancestral drivel
Sciamachy with autumn’s past

Wow, Becca, I looked at the list and it is daunting! I understand why you have been hesitant to give Wordle-ing (how’s that for a word?) a try! I love the poem you crafted!

Oh, Grace — you are most kind — I just hope it makes a modicum of sense to the reader. I like the word “wordling” 😀

I found this list less daunting than most — plus the encouragement at Mindlovemisery was supportive … I could have started with 3 words at first, and then worked my way — but once I started, it seemed an interesting challenge to get all of them used with the train-of-thought-path I found myself meandering down. I appreciate you leaving me a feedback note. Thank you!!

Good for you! And I learned a new word: sciamachy. I do love “burnish,” too. That’s how the eclipsed moon looks this morning: burnished.

I love “burnish” too — I learned “sciamachy” as a new word as well … don’t know I’ll ever use it again, though!! 😀 I am glad to scratch “scary Wordle” off my list!! LOL
