Midnite
aka Middy aka Middy-Mister
10 years old
It became apparent after Midnite fell seriously ill several months ago, I do not have any good photos of him. Being black, he has been difficult to capture clearly; plus he does not like his photo taken. I promised myself to resolve this situation.
In addition, I did not realize until a few weeks ago, his inner right ear is spotted. During a visit to the hospital, the clinic light struck his ear a certain way, and behold, I noticed the spots. I thought something was wrong … immediately mentioning it to my husband. He informed me, the spots have always been there. I remarked “He is 10 years old, TEN, and I am just noticing??” Mind you, it is not that I haven’t had oodles of up close and personal time with him all these years. Why hadn’t my eyes caught on to this? I felt like a neglectful mom! “Well,” I informed Ray, I have to remedy not only capturing him in more photos, but including his cute leopard spots.” ~~~~
Since he was shaved twice in the past few months, I tried to wait for some of his fur to fill in … but the sun was hitting his ears just right, I grabbed my camera and started shooting. This is from the first set! Of course, he was covered in dust! 😀 Will keep shooting until I capture his personality!

So like my Chloe, though she is looking quite brown in the summer sun!

Yes, he does look brown — I am not sure why unless it is part reflection from his red collar. He is on steroids, and other than slowing his fur regrowth, it may be affecting his coat as well.

Chloe, who is similar age, looks almost like a very dark tortoiseshell in the summer, pretending to be black the rest of the time!

Cute description of how we can miss something in someone and, yet, see theme everyday. It happens to me with people. I suppose with a cat it can be easy to miss.
It’s a fabulous photo but he doesn’t look like he wants to have his photo taken.

No Issy — he usually doesn’t. His eyes always look like he doesn’t feel good — and that was before he got “sick”. Occasionally, I see him with wide eyed playful eyes but it is not very often. I hope I can catch him on a good day at least once!
