Oh the lessons our journey has in store for us
through our “trials” and short-comings!

What is Nurturing Thursday, you ask?
Think about it … In our amazing but highly competitive and aggressive society:
- How many of us truly feel good about ourselves?
- How often do we extend to ourselves … the same courtesies, considerations, nurturing, forgiveness and understanding we bestow a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger?
With the ongoing intention to accept myself with an open heart rather than label myself as “good” or “bad” OR a “success” or “failure” … I challenge myself, and I challenge YOU to treat ourselves with the same kindness, caring, and compassion we show a good friend. My goal for this year continues with striving and thriving in an atmosphere of self-compassion and self-kindness in my life. What about you?
To “give this planet a much needed shot of fun, support and positive energy” … I dub Thursdays as Nurturing Thursday.
If any of my readers are interested in joining the nurturing, I applaud and welcome you to do so … the more the merrier!!

Hi Becca! Good reminder. We may not like some situations but they teach you some thing definitely.

Some Lessons one can do without. Nobody likes to be set up for failure. Or feel like you’re a project that needs to be fixed.

I understand your perspective. As much as I do NOT like some of the situations and circumstances I’ve been placed in, no matter the amount of heartache, frustration, disappointments, anger, humiliation that resulted, there were/are lessons in them, and I try to honor that information and experience. Do I want to repeat them? Absolutely NOT! But to make sense of some of it, I find the positive effects for myself, my spirit, my journey. If I can assist someone else on their journey through my experience, then it was not for naught!

I am always on a journey to improve myself. I catch circumstances that need improvement through my reaction. When it is reflected through another, those lessons maybe the difficult ones to accept because of my denial they exist or need work. Because I am always evolving, whether I like it or not, I am a work in progress! 😉

Powerful, and challenging, words, Becca! I’d not really joining in NT during August, as I’m doing this, but I thought I’d share today’s word 🙂
