What is Nurturing Thursday, you ask?
Think about it … In our amazing but highly competitive and aggressive society:
- How many of us truly feel good about ourselves?
- How often do we extend to ourselves … the same courtesies, considerations, nurturing, forgiveness and understanding we bestow a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger?
With the ongoing intention to accept myself with an open heart rather than label myself as “good” or “bad” OR a “success” or “failure” … I challenge myself, and I challenge YOU to treat ourselves with the same kindness, caring, and compassion we show a good friend. My goal for this year continues with striving and thriving in an atmosphere of self-compassion and self-kindness in my life. What about you?
To “give this planet a much needed shot of fun, support and positive energy” … I dub Thursdays as Nurturing Thursday.
If any of my readers are interested in joining the nurturing, I applaud and welcome you to do so … the more the merrier!!

So timely, thanks, dear. I really broke down due to illness. Didn’t want to continue but perhaps there is still in some lessons in store for me. Back to enjoying reading again. Have a nice day.

This is a lovely challenge and we – and this world – can certainly use more nurturing and more kindness. Am delighted to participate.
Here’s my contribution.

I so appreciate that you post these uplifting comments and it looks as though many others contribute as well. My whole life I have never thought of strength but I was once told I have determination, for I have always moved forward in spite…or because…of everything. Since heart surgery in 2015 I have moved three times and next year I will once again move, hopefully for the final time, to my oldest daughter’s. She has a huge lot where her newly purchased house sets and she has agreed to let me build a tiny 300 sq ft structure on the back area of it. It will be close to her house and I will eat and shower in her home but it will be mine as an art studio, writing and reading area and I will not have to pay rent. I have, at times in my life, thought not to be fortunate but in reflecting upon the upcoming move I can say that yes, I am fortunate to have such a loving daughter. I do hope you are well, Becca, and your family as well. Thank you for your posts.

Thank you for your uplifting Thursday posts and Thanks for sticking with me during my darker moments. I appreciate your help, support and encouragement. I wish to share with you my Salute to Fall in Honor of the Autumn Solstice. This painting is called Autumn Dancers and I added the song Autumn Leaves as sung by Nat King Cole. Enjoy.
