Twinkle of Appreciation
coffee brewed
fresh
wake up with kiss

I have not had an alarm clock ring in my ears for nearly twenty-one years.
As part of our wedding vows (or so I remind Ray, my husband) my wake up routine does not include an alarm clock. Ray is the early morning riser in our home; I am not!
Ray delivers a pottered mug of hot coffee to me each morning. He gently blows the steam under my nose until the wafting aroma awakens me. If for some reason, I am deep in sleep and the aroma does not immediately “do the trick”, he offers a kiss.
Should the chance for a nap arises later in the day, this delicious and endearing process is repeated!

I can relate to your post, Becca. I am a morning person, but I’m not a ready riser, not an early one nor a late one. Waking up for me is difficult. I will cling to my pillow even when I’ve had plenty of sleep. Oh, yes, I do get up when I must, but I do not like it. I pry myself out of bed with the thought of that fresh brewed coffee you mention. How nice that your fresh brewed coffee and a kiss are delivered to you! Blessings to you, Becca…

Bless him, that’s so thoughtful and you are lucky! I’m the early riser in our house but – when I had a ‘proper job’ my man would warm my car up for me every morning – my colleagues said I was spoiled!

Does Ray have an available brother willing to perform these 2x daily coffee duties without any privileges of matrimony? Just kidding, because my own dear hubby is extremely wonderful at coffee service. However, I am a disgusting morning person, so I am the first one awake many days. Pre-dawn with first bird chirp always wakes me up, no alarm clock required, thank goodness.
