Small Stone – The Summer I Dared

Two firsts for me …

  1. Entry for dVerse ~ Poet’s Pub and
  2. Composition of a Spine or Sorted-Book Poem

Spine Poem - 1

The summer I dared
Mended hearts
The wisdom way of knowing
Almost home
Redeeming Love

Dedicated to my
mom’s sacred journey

  2. So wonderful to see you taking up the challenge, and even more of a pleasure to see such a result. The poem’s evocation – at least for me – is one of comfort, of finding a way that once may have been lost, of being made whole once again. Isn’t it surprising how something so meaningful and personal can come out of an assemblage of book titles that would otherwise be unrelated? Well done.

Welcome to dVerse Becca – it’s great to see you and to see you joining in too. I love your titles and the way you have combined them. I might have ordered them differently, but the overall effect and message would have been similar.

I love what you did…I just did my first post of Spine Poetry even tho I have seen the prompt before but not posted. Yours encouraged me to post mine.

You also mentioned this is your first dVerse post…I love their prompts/challenges. Sometimes I can do them, sometimes not,… and sometimes long after the closing for posts I have an aha moment. I always learn something here.

    Peace and love
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Siggi – I had this on my “to do” list of forms. Although, my list is a short one … I’ve kept putting it off. I think the outcome lends itself to some amazing surprises.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Very much appreciated. xox

There is a sense of healing in this which is quite comforting. I have read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers…such a beautiful story…
